Boy's Rooms

Baby Boy #2 can come any time now. Andy and I have been working on moving rooms around for the the last month and we are finally done. Here are some pics of Tucker's new big boy room, the nursery and our new guest room.

Tucker has been sleeping and napping really well in his new room. We played a lot in here before we moved him to get him comfortable. He had been napping in his new bed for a week and then just decided one night that he would sleep here. It was a lot easier than we thought!
Andrew picked out and bought this dresser from Pier 1 all on his own. He has done such a great job with finding furniture and things for our house. We love the dresser and know it will be useful for a long time to come.
I haven't really done much to change the nursery. We got a new lamp, and some other some things, but I am excited to bring in the baby's clothes and everything that will be just for him.

It's been fun to get out all the baby things again for the nursery.

This guest room used to be in Tucker's new room, but we decided he should have the big room. It worked out really well and all the furniture fits in here perfectly. We are ready for all of our family to come visit once the baby is here!

30 minutes..

Well, today was nap #2 in the big boy bed and Tucker did much better. I tried to leave his door cracked and stand outside, but then that just became a game for him. He would get out of bed, come up to the door and open it, then I would tell him to go lay down. This happened 10-15 times, and I figured it wasn't going to work. I closed his door but held the knob so he couldn't accidentally lock it. He sat at the door and cried for about five minutes then got bored with that, walked away and then I could hear him playing with his car.

After abou 15 minutes of playing, he crawled onto his bed with his doggy and went to sleep. He slept for an hour and 45 minutes. So.. we made some progress. I think I am going to take the suggestion of putting up a baby gate at his door so he is not 'locked' in there.

Hopefully we'll get better with each day. I am glad we are doing this now with a good six weeks before Baby #2 gets here!

24 minutes..

Is how long it took Tucker to fall asleep for his first nap today in his new room. With only seven weeks left before the baby gets here we are beginning the transition of getting him out of the nursery and into his new room and new twin bed. he did pretty well, only crying for 24 minutes before falling asleep. the only problem is that he fell asleep at his door on the floor b/c he was crying and pounding on the door trying to get out. after falling asleep, he slept for about 45 minutes before waking up. Not bad for his first nap in a new room. he usually sleeps around 2.5-3 hours.. the only problem is that he somehow locked the door and we went through a five minute panic before I was able to open the door with a credit card. He is sleeping in his crib tonight and we will try nap #2 in his bed tomorrow. keep your fingers crossed! I am thinking about leaving his door open today and making him stay in his bed if he gets up instead of shutting the door. If anyone has suggestions....
